Humans and the Evil they do...

There are good, hard working Muslims living in France. There are also Muslims that are religious fanatics. The French, however, have the right to be French.

Too Many Damned Fools!

Right now there is crisis happening in Europe created by a mass flood of Muslims entering that part of the world. By their numbers they will bring poverty to many countries. With poverty comes religious fanaticism.

In recent times Europe, the USA and Australia have had a taste of Muslim religious fanaticism. It results in things usually going bad for everyone.

For example, the 9/11 deaths in the USA led the USA into a number of futile wars. What's more Australia, Britain and other countries were also dragged into these conflicts. If the attacks on American soil that happened and have gone down non in history as 9/11 hadn't occurred the world might indeed be a much safer place.

Are the Muslims entering Europe in great numbers and wanting to enter the USA and Australia also in great numbers true refugees? Some definitely come under this banner while others do not. How to sort out the true refugees from the others will be a huge job.

If poverty is at the root of religious fanaticism as I believe it is then what has created such poverty? I would say overpopulation followed in this instance by war.

ISIS thrives on chaos in our world. It recruits from the disadvantaged while at the same time creating more of the disadvantaged.

Recently the capital city of Mainland China was in shut down because of severe air pollution.

We know that fertile land and drinking water will become more and more precious and sort after.

New forms of energy are also being sort after. We will not always be able to rely on fossil fuels.

And the way some companies propose extracting coal seam gas may prove disastrous to not only the environment but also to existing fresh water supplies.

Civilizations have collapsed in the past for want of enough drinking water.

Some day the apple may become a precious object. Apple trees require room and water in order to grow and produce apples.

The United Nations has been keeping tabs on human population growth since it was founded.

The United Nations has been doing that and keeping tabs on the obligations created after the 2nd World War when it comes to the wealthier nations toward the less wealthy nations.

Population growth has long since gotten out of hand but there doesn't seem to be much that can be done about it.

Religion figures into it. so many people at weddings are told to be fruitful and multiply. Have children, sure, but multiply when we know there is an overpopulation crisis looming?

Thinking that was okay for the Bronze Age and even the Iron Age doesn't always wash with our present age. Modern medicine should be taken into consideration plus the fact that people tend to live longer even in third world countries.

Countries like Australia are expected to take in at least 200 thousand migrants a year but refugees.

Australia has been doing this for at least 60 years and will no doubt continue to do so long after I am gone. But there is no more justification for it.

The Australian way of life cannot thus be improved. The obligation to the United Nations, however, remains.

This means that countries with large populations and no plans to curb growth let along down size need not take responsibility for lack of action.

Even in countries such as the USA there are people who do not as yet see the problem of population growth out of control.

To my disgust there have even been American 'Reality' shows in praise of large families with no thought whatsoever to what damage large families do to the environment.

In Australia animals face extinction because of increases in human population.

TOO MANY DAMNED FOOLS!

Too many children!

You idiot! You idiot!

The world needs brave souls

To stand up to the fools.

You clean out the river,

You clean out the sea,

No more fish for you and me.

Too many children!

You idiot! You idiot!

The world needs brave souls

To stand up to the fools.

Religion be damned,

Think of the land.

She needs your love,

Not words from above.

She needs your care,

To remain true and fair.

Too many children!

You idiot! You idiot!

The world needs brave souls

To stand up to the fools.

So make a stand

And save the land,

Fight the fools,

The ignorant fools,

Of religion gone bad,

Of religion gone mad.

Too many children!

You idiot! You idiot!

The world needs brave souls

To stand up to the fools

And save the future.

This is a poem for our times. There may be hard lessons to be learned if we are to save our beautiful blue planet.

I have a brother-in-law who would dearly love to see our shining bauble from space. I imagine that if we could all see our world from space we would have a better understanding of how everything is connected and of how precious a bauble it truly is.

The Cosmonauts knew this and so did the Astronauts.

I try to share in their wonder whenever I see film footage or still photographs taken of our earth from space. In space it is so obvious our planet is finite rather than infinite. It does not go on forever. There are limitations.

Overpopulation of the planet by humans is a real threat that cannot long be ignored before things really go bad for all.

There was an article in MX magazine (May, 2011) of two teenagers marrying one another. This occurred in the Punjab in India.

The Punjab used to be the breadbasket of India but the river is drying up from overuse and so the area isn't producing as much food as it used to. At the same time the population is growing.

These two teenagers marrying and no doubt having offspring too early which will prompt them to have more offspring than they would if they had married later in life is a sign of what is wrong with the area.

Also there is the lack of knowledge and education that comes with children marrying children and having children.

It is a vicious cycle. None of them will have time for an education. The parents of this child groom and child bride are damned fools damning their offspring and harming the future, not only of themselves, but their children and their children's children. This is just so wrong.

Efforts have been made to address the rising salt problem in Australia caused by the felling of too many trees. There is a continuing program to plant more trees and to generally look after the land and not just exploit it.

Somewhere down the line people in Australia and possibly New Zealand will be asked to foot the bill for what is happening in the Punjab even though it is not, in any way, their fault.

Water is precious, especially drinking water and water for crops. Lives can be precious and should be given a good start rather than a desperately bad start.

Knowledge and education may save the Punjab. It will only be condemned by child marriages. And where will the people of the Punjab go when the land is a desert? What will happen to them when the land cannot support them? Like I said, Australians may end up footing the bill for the criminal foolishness and negligence of the land perpetrated by others. This is such a sad business.

I loved this. I see a lot of love in this and a sense of loss and futility. Your love of life is what came through to me strongest though. A very nice piece, thank you.
