TWILIGHT'S MOMENT

Source

By: Wayne Brown

The last rays of sunlight mark the close of day

The sun over the horizon steady on its way

Darkness blankets the land with a mood sublime

That special time of evening; it’s twilight time

Birds begin to settle into their treetop rest

Crickets chirp to one another with their request

A slight breeze gently brushing the wind chime

Special, special moments here at twilight time

The heat of day is gone as temps begin to drop

A Whippoorwill is lonely; his calling never stops

And off on the far ridge a coyote’s yipping line

All rolled into the moments marking twilight time

A peaceful easy hangs in the air; lingering around

‘Ol hoot owl begins to call; time to make his rounds

The night is waking up; the brighter stars already shine

We’re living in the special moment; it’s twilight time

The time when day gives way to love’s romance

The solitude of love into which two hearts dance

Gentle loving touch; a tender kiss; arms entwined

Fleeting love’s destination moment; twilight time

The pink, blue, and gold tones of evening’s sunset

A prize cast upon the eyes; a gift we cannot forget

The slow darkening of light into moon-glow’s shine

A time when everything is good; it’s twilight time

Time to lean back in the swing and take in this event

It is so short-lived; the time between came and went

God’s gift of evening painted on a canvas so sublime

A moment that makes life worth living; twilight time

I like your writing style and is similar to my own. You have a nice way of expressing the senses and putting them on the canvas of your painted and written works.

Yes indeed you leave this city slicker breathless. I am totally relaxed as I envision exactly what you scribe here my friend. I love twilight time, something very special about it. The calm, the tender times when all life seems suspended in time, calm settle across the world for this bit of time.

God certainly graced us with Twilight as a special peaceful message, to take the time for one another. Twilight let it never end. Beautifully done my friend, you have the magic in your heart.

While some days end with a better spectacle than others, every twilight usually has it's own message. Great work Wayne.

For some reason your poem had a very calming affect on me. This would be a great one to record. That way on those nights that I can't sleep I could listen to your poem. Wayne would you consider putting this one into audio/video?

Up and beautiful!

@Just Ask Susan...I am currently working on a computer based audio recording system for my PA that I use with my guitar...you know, the one I play poorly and sing even worse. Once I can work out the bugs, maybe I can look at putting togther something for YouTube using this poem as the base. Thanks for the idea and the good words, Susan! WB

@fpherj48...We all need a place to sometimes and that was what I was trying to convey with this one...a tranquility and solitude readily at hand for the taking...what better than twilight time. Glad things are better and so glad that I could help you get there! WB
