Take Me Away On A Country Drive
I Never Want To Stop
We hop in the car and out of the driveway we go
Down the road and where we stop nobody knows
We look at the trees all green and tall
Then all the different houses that have huge barns and rock walls
I feel only a cool breeze that blows
Not a care or a concern
All we have is gas to burn
We take a left then a right
My head nods off as my wife drives for over an hour
I am so peaceful and relaxed
Then she instantly yells did you see that
Ofcourse not
I dozed off to sleep
What was it ?
Never mind
She says if you are hungry we will stop
We found a nice seafood place to stretch our legs and fill our hollow drums
Each bite so delicious and wonderful
You would think the food melted in thin air
We stopped along the way at many antique shops browsing
The treasures tucked away in every room that only our eyes can see
Reminscing of days gone bye and the years that have passed
Leaving there with a deep feeling of satisfaction and the love for new technology
As we finally turn around and head home
A day filled with looking ,resting and talking
When we pull into the driveway we see our cat up in the window
Anxiously waiting for our return
As you hear the car locks click and our car doors shut for the final time
A wind chime twisting back and forth
We disappear behind the glass where we retire for the evening
Having fun buying nothing and sharing the most valuable thing in life
Time
That's how we end the evening as the clock ticks quarter past nine
