Tantalizing Music

Music

Seeps into my mind

Tantalizes

With excitement

A kind lover

Soft folds of the beat

Intoxicating ability

Taking from reality

To endless space of hope

Moving gently into

Sensuous flow of sound

Lost

In the feelings

Soothing caressment

An escape

From prison walls of society

High

On the cloud of freedom

Found in music

heart4theword and RevLady...thanks for reading and enjoying the poem. It was a bit whimsical and fun to do. The power of music again like so many of God's gifts can be used for the building up or the demise of people. May you both be blessed today!

UlrikeGrace, Very good poem and picturesque too. Music has quite the power to draw us into another world .... as you have described here. I'm glad to know you are also a lover of the gift of music too!

Which music in particular takes you there? I am curious! I also find hope in music. I was sad to discover yesterday, after listening to NPR, that an Islamist group in Somalia has banned music from the radios. The commentator who braved offering this news story told his audience that he has also turned to music for hope when he is despairing.

Thanks for the images.

Storytellersrus, all kinds do take me places...but to the throne room of God...it is for sure worship music that is all about Him...in which I can join my praise with that of the author of the song...also specific classic music, piano takes me there...but beautiful music with or without words will take me to a place of sheer joy in which I can praise my God! If the music turns me to God then...I find lasting hope...

thanks sweetie for stopping in and having a read...always glad to see you and mull over your thoughts and/or questions.

Blessings
