The Air You Left Behind
I'm still breathing that thick air you left behind
that day you walked away from your place in my heart.
I'm breathing in and I can still smell you,
a smell that used to make my heart beat so much faster
like the sound of a train leaving the station.
My heart wouldn't slow down until your smell was gone,
until my eyes couldn't see you anymore
and until your body was separated from mine.
It's so hard to breath the air you left behind
and that place in my heart still is so empty.
I know you won't come back to fill it, so I'll do it myself
with beautiful things in life and wonderful words I hear.
I'm trying to fill that place you once had in my heart.
