To the Atheists Gathered at my Door......

"I told you so.......I told you so......what God
gives you too many loves only to take them back
one by one in return"

Such is all there is ..... no God only the
the fractures in the soft
tissues of promise to learn

So go ahead ....swing wide the doors of the
universe in which we all stand
and demand some final proof

That's one way to show your faith
by stacking the stones of my faith
against me're so aloof

Be careful friends don't stand too close
to walls of faith's contagious
better check you're hearts

Little by Little from deep within
the faith you have no God.....
begins to play it's parts

The next thing you know too
raise your face to the sun
and make some request

But that a prayer I hear.....
from some place deep within........
that's what I love the best

I went to a funeral awhile ago and standing out among the gathered I heard someone boast , about there being no god or we wouldn't be here now .......He was so right!!!
But, I feel no victory only sorrow for them.

There seem to be more atheists preaching these days than preachers.

To each his own, that's what I believe. Anyone that bashes anothers beliefs is only insecure and ignorant. Does anyone remember on 9/11 when members of the House and Senate came out and prayed on the front steps? It always has amazed me when something tragic happens how many people seek and call on Gods name!! I know from practice the best thing to do is live by example, noneone is perfect. Like I was told by a very wise woman..feed the nonbeiever like a toddler. To explain: Small bites at a time, if you try to put too much food in their mouth they will spit it out. Now that correlates with feeding a non believers soul. Some will never believe and that's ok too. I feel like this though, we all have the ability to be respectful and mindful. Every man/womans journey to believing in God is individual and between God and that person. The problem is man thinks the only way to God is church or through someone else...nope it's between you and God. It's bothersome to hear people say if there were a God we would'nt be here suffering. Man suffers because of mans deeds! Our loving Father would never give you cancer, take your children..... We need to get back to taking responsibility for our own actions and stop looking to point the finger. We all fall short and will till the end. I'm just thankful we have a forgiving God!! Love you lots

Dido Daddy's girl , I love ya bunches. I read recently that , given all the beauty in the world , It takes more Faith to not believe in a god than to believe. Makes sense to me and , both previous comments hit the nail on the head. Im all for , believe as you may however atheists are far to disrespectful than believers than the opposite. Love ya so much sweety.

Oh man, so very true. I love this thought:

Little by Little from deep within

the faith you have no God.....

begins to play it's parts

I know many atheists that pretend not to believe, but are always struggling to maintain their unbelief in the face of all the evidence, not only physical, but also the evidence inside their own hearts.

Then it occurs to me that although I believe so very strongly, the same kind of uncertainty gnaws at my ragged outer edges, and I realize that although I am saved through Jesus, I am not perfect and must continue to walk further on the narrow road myself, just as much as the unbelievers must come as far as I already have.

Hello Alexander Mark , Faith , faith thats the beauty and the simplicity of believers , And the stumbling point of the over analytical non-believer. Have patience , they will come around.

We are mortal - frail - incomplete - corrupt and wounderous in our human condition. Thankfully it is only a brief span of time in the scheme of things. There are two points I think of when I think of God and the arguements of Heaven and Hell (having been a very strong Christian for a long time - but now just a believer in the fact something created all we see and are).

The first is When God breathed the breath of life in us he gave us energy - for that is what he is - creative energy - that being said we are energy slowed to a material level of existance - along with that thougt is that all energy and infact the world around us is comprised of opposites, male - female, positive - negitive- and so on. That is perhaps why it is written God created US in his image male and female he created them.

Secondly if we were created in his image and he breathed the breath of life in us giving us his energy then at our very essense we are eternal just as that force that brought us to be.

Some think that it is an advancement to only look at the achievements of man and mans science to say there is no God or Creator, but they fail to have any solid answer to the hows and whys of the beginning of it all. We can have, in my opinion, evolved and yet had an initial creation. The laws on which this universe works do not at all preclude an existance of a creative power. The scientists cannot find answers to some things that we now believe as "faith" thoughts simply because to use material methods to search things of thought and belief cannot be done. It is no more a false or ignorant belief that during the creation or evolution of man we were to have been breathed the breath of life by an eternal creator then in one aspect or another we are eternal. We find fragnemtary pieces of fossil remains and create timelines based on science yet there remains no solid fossil record spanning the entire time of this being called man. Are the conjectures used by scientists to explain theory of those gaps any less myth then a persons belief in a creator? In my opinion no.

Why we have to fight over one belief or non-belief boils down to basically one point and that our egos feel we have to be right - those who hold to a belief in something eternal will for the sake of their eternal being stand for the right to believe .... those who choose only to accept what is material in their universe and disallow all thought of something that has no material evidence will stand their ground.. in either case it is a question of a soul. We will never really know in this life but some day we all will have the answer - and at that point the answer will have no consequence here. The battle is our own, why argue.

Laurie , In a lot of ways , I believe as you do! I also feel at the same time that the beauty of life and earth is far too great a thing to be born of a "big bang theory", so for me , there is a higher power! And yet, I feel that ,to each his own too! I would never need a Jerry Falwell or Jimmy Swaggart to show me the way either. I always say , my church is in the out of doors , within the realm of the spirits there, whatever they may be . You are correct , one day we will know for sure! We all live in one world ,believers and non-believers alike , The thing that bothers me though ,are Those who point fingers at me and tell me how wrong I am , the fingers from both sides pointing in each direction. Witness' at my door or atheists on the forums , all of them could learn a few "manners" and I believe thats the point in this poem.... Asside from this great conversation .....please know, my heart goes out to you for your losing your mother, I hope she had a great life and that peace and serenity is yours to enjoy in the coming days ,weeks and years. When you feel down about it , know your hubbers are here for you. Stay well Laurie!

Thank you for all your kindness my friend - She had a long life filled with both much joy and many sorrows.. It was in watching her face these things and how she lived I became who I am. I am often told "your just like your mother". I only pray that is so. Knowing the finality of death here on this plane is not really as hard. I have lived a long way away from her for a long time so not seeing her is ok... I feel her with me. I will miss the sound of her laugh - her gentle touch when I was here with her and her advice.

Please tell your daughter for me to remember the times that you share - the things like your laugh - your smile - and of course your wisdom.

Hugs to you and again thank you!

I am so happy to hear that , I wished often , in life for a different day when families all lived near each other. Bless her and bless you too! Ed...
