The Binding Threads of Time

The Binding Threads of Time

People milling about all across the globe

together bound by invisible treads which hold

one to another, lover to lover,

friend to friend, father to mother.

~

Some are stronger than others you see

it is really just a matter of degree.

A mother to a child is stronger by far

than say friends to friends are.

~

Some threads move back through time

connecting to ancestors in kind

others spring from the earth

as child is given birth.

~

Threads of blood are by far the strongest

but threads of love can reach the longest.

Threads that bind people to nations

threads that tie people to their stations.

~

For every life there is a thread

connecting to all it knows until dead.

People may walk with you for a space

and then leave as if to erase

~

but the thread never ceases to be.

Its not as if you may ever flee.

it may shrink or it may grow

but always with you it flows.

~

Peoples lives cross for good and for bad

causing the threads to hop about as if mad

this is the warp and the weave you see

the threads they write our history.

Poetvix this has to be your proudest possesion. I love the intermingling of words in your latest write. The ending truly is a Curtain Call! You seem to be getting better at it every day! Matt.

Gee Matt Lord knows you are full of encouragement and I thank you for it. I love your stuff too. You have an ability for word play that is awe inspiring.

Thank you again.

How true, and truly beautiful. Rated Up and the word before this sentence began.

Thank you Jim. I am so glad you like it as it was shall we say poorly received in the poetry room I hang out in.

Gotta say I loved, loved, loved your zombie write and fully intend on reading more. I find zombies fascinating examples of the baser components of that animal known as human. Wonder if zombies still have threads or if they just eat them? hmmmm... I will have to think on it... or perhaps, if I ever encounter one I can capture he/she and study to find out. Yes, yes, I know this is not recommended and will most likely result in my own infection but I have to admit to owning a devlish sense of curiosity that refuses to be quelled.
