The Birds of Autumn ( a poem of inspiration)

Beautiful wings...
Beautiful wings...
Birds of Autumn
Birds of Autumn
As we gaze skyward...
As we gaze skyward...
Wood ducks sense that Autumn is near...
Wood ducks sense that Autumn is near...
An approaching chill of Autumn breezes...
An approaching chill of Autumn breezes...
A Snow owl knows that Winter will soon come...
A Snow owl knows that Winter will soon come...

As the leaves of reds and yellows, to soon appear,

Birds of the wild, all know this time is near,

Amid cooling air, and while arrant breezes, to blow,

Feathered ones, in flights, now soon do show.

Each V-formation, to signal a fair Autumn's reign,

The leaf strewn paths, that so mark each lane.

Their choral notes, these sent to us, far down below,

As fine and cherished sounds, all seem to flow.

Vibrant colors of plumage and such a regal pose,

Represent the best that all nature does disclose.

Such beauty shared and for our waiting world to see,

As we gaze toward blue skies, see birds flying, free.

What finer gifts than these, that our creator does bestow,

A sharing of this space, on this place, that we do know,

The finest wonders, a beauty, of our birds, we so adore,

As in precious flights, they take wing, to rise and soar.
