Recently I received a wonderful surprise in the mail. Mr. Don M. Green, Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, sent me an inscribed copy of his new book, Everything I Know About Success I Learned From Napoleon Hill – Essential Lessons For Using The Power of Positive Thinking.

Of course I was as delighted as I was surprised, and my heart was bursting with gratitude mingled with an eagerness to delve right in.

With warmth, wisdom and a writing style that is truly welcoming and conversational, Don has created a remarkable tapestry.

He has woven together a lifetime’s worth of experiences, sharing his insights and lessons, while beautifully interlacing the most fundamental threads and strands of Dr. Hill’s teachings. To say that Mr. Don Green has had a fascinating and illustrative life to date is a tremendous understatement.

My conversations and communications with Don have blessed me with some sense of the man, such as his integrity, strength of character, his caring and helpful approach, and his vast and varied knowledge.

Yet I was quite taken with the stories and anecdotes which modestly, and by way of example, reveal a great life brimming with tremendous accomplishments, generosity and service, all in the most unassuming and forthright way.

At one point in the book he writes, “All stories of successful men and women show that these people exercised indomitable will, concentrated on worthwhile goals, and were persistent as they moved from the humblest ranks to positions of great service and recognition. These true stories show how men and women, sometimes starting in poverty, often struggled in the face of failures that would give most people a reason – or excuse – to become discouraged and quit.” This observation not only has the deep, tonal resonance of truth, it also highlights Don’s keen insight and personal and professional experience.

As someone who loves really good quotes, I must say that this book contains some marvelous ones. Both from well-known sages as well as gems from the author, which have been polished and perfected by hard-won experience and are offered with genuine care and support, sparkling, to each and every reader.

The book is clear, accessible and practical. It is as helpful as it is hopeful. Some books are technically accurate yet have no heart; others are full of fluff and based on theory rather than backed by real life, contemporary experience. This book is smart, down to earth and very timely. If you want the formula, with easy-to-follow-and-apply specifics, and if you want to know how to handle challenges in order to get the results you desire, this book has all you need.

It is simply up to each one of us to read and follow the proven guidance. “The power to become what you want to be, to get what you crave, and to accomplish what you strive for lies within you. You are the one person who can bring it from within and go toward the accomplishment you so want.”

If you take the compelling contents of this book to heart, there is no question about whether or not you can succeed. The only question is, “Will you?”

Sounds like Napoleon Hill. He and anything that's written about him will be great. Thanks for the review.

I've never heard of Napoleon Hill or Don Green, but I'm sure this book is as inspiring to many people as you say it will be. Well written and useful I'm sure, to people who need a lift or a push from time to time. Voted up!

Hi Au fait,

Thanks for taking time to read and for your thoughtful comments. Napoleon Hill is best known for his book, "Think and Grow Rich," which in some ways I believe is a "limiting" title, since he gives remarkable information about mindset, personal choice and the power of our thoughts. Don is a wonderful man I got connected with when I obtained copyright permission for my Napoleon Hill cards - greeting cards I created with my original photos and quotes from Hill's book. These men are inspiring indeed! You can see the Hill quotes here (no obligation or tracking of any kind).

Appreciate our connection! L.
