Poem: The Break Up
- Do you love me?
- No.
- Are you lying?
- Yes.
Our heads are in mess.
She wants us
to be friends we can never be.
I want us
to be in love we can never fake.
I take my heart and break it apart:
will you remember me?
I'll give you a piece if you will.
She just stands still and keeps quiet.
She's so beautiful.
Quiet and cruel
but honest.
I've always said honesty is the key
please lock what I feel.
It will be easier for me, not knowing
where it hit.
Think quick. Say something
meaningful.
But I only come up with something
rude.
My pride is a wounded beast, trying
to fight back.
I say don't try,
you can't defend something you don't have.
Cry.
- Do you love me?
- No.
- Are you lying?
...
- Goodbye.
