...The Brevity of the Fall...

The focus is lost

and the highway packed

the Labyrinth calls

me back

frost lit blades of grass

shimmer in the early day sun

the promise of evergreens

stays true

the sound of Silence adheres

to the drums now silent

in my ears

a blanket of amber and sienna

as slippery as ice

lies

a carpet of death

beneath me

The brevity of daylight

no longer perplexes me

I am caught in lengthened darkness

and I tend it like a sleeping garden

where my phantoms and stones

still speak...

Had to say "Thanks" - for sharing your talents & for doing that so well... Excellent stuff Poet. (I will email you Carole... it seems HP have removed the PM button on our profiles recently!) Take care... PD.
