The Day I Left You

The day that I left you it was sunny not a cloud in the sky,

no rain to fall like teardrops , a perfect day to say goodbye.

You had to know it was coming, I told you so many times.

You just didn't listen, you played deaf, dumb and blind.

The day that I left you, you started crying, you kept asking me why.

There was nothing I could tell you all my own tears have run dry.

The day that I left you, I left behind all my fears.

A new life has begun for me, I'm reclaiming all the lost years.

The day that I left you, was the best day of my life,

except for the day I became your wife.

I somehow missed you and never returned a visit. So very sorry since you look like a very good writer. This certainly is.

Thanks so much. The ending is kind of ironic.

I do hope you are going on with your life. I know that leaving someone you love is sad, but sometimes it must be. I've followed you for over a year and am aware of your pain. God Bless you.
