The Door Is Open

 Have you ever walked in the night? Reveled in the silence of muffling shadows? Drifted through the garden of dreams? Caught the shreds of consciousness as moths to be devoured by the light?

You should

Hidden away, beyond the shade of the street lights, the pale luminescence of the stars, & the fog of moonlight is a gate fashioned iron wrought subtlety. It beckons & only those empty of expectations may pass through it.

The door is open

(that twinge as you touch the burner, the cold alien sensation as the needle slides into flesh (that perverse parody of copulation), the moment of unreason as your hands circle another’s throat, the only thought pounding through your brain, “it will all go away if I don’t hear breathing anymore”, that flash of assurance as the tumblers only you hear fall into place)

 Darkness: that which we can not perceive. Beyond the boundaries of perception it lies, within and without. To only accept that which we see, hear, touch, smell, reason is to deny one of our greatest strengths-darkness. The realm where reason stops, where senses fail; that abode we’re told to ignore, to not speak of. The space beyond, where shadows bleed, their words denied, there is no light. Darkness. There is a beauty to be found as mankind goes mad in the denial of this essence (as it presses upon and through us). The shadow at the edge of our vision, the indefinable creature at our feet. In darkness…it is from here they speak. Do you hear them?
