The Double Edge
The Double Edge

It is not the motion of striving
that creates an unencumbered path,
but the thinking behind it.
Greed and being self-centred,
brings opposition through force,
giving strength to resistance.
In a universe of balance,
belief in pushing creates resistance,
and therefore a path of struggle.
Movement is best attained by the mind first,
a clear and concise destination,
through the process of kindness and understanding.
All else is lost to the complications of human endeavour,
the projections of will,
and the seductions of ego.
There is no malice in the natural world of life and death,
simply the movement of change,
and the process of cycles.
We too are subject to this movement in life,
this continual transition of experience and age,
each moment a gift of learning.
Yet humans accept little of the realities of life,
instead vying to overcome them by force,
and in the end, suffering the consequences.
Life is a gentle and subtle experience,
filled with joys, pain and suffering,
all of which bears gifts.
If only we could see through the eyes of acceptance.
