The Endless Echo of Words

By Tony DeLorger © 2014

Encumbered by a righteous will,

I can but live my life instilled,

with all the words my mother said,

her wise and moral stance my pledge.

And even though I wish at times,

to be just a little lapse in crime,

and let loose the reins of my noble steed,

and be wicked and feed on selfish need.

I know that in the end she's right,

to live cleanly in this human plight,

in compassion and empathy for others care,

and in return the love so divine and fair.

And no matter what I do or say,

my mothers words echo strong today,

and keep this soul in an unwavering line,

and my heart open, my life defined.

And when I fall to my demon fear,

even anger is wasted, my heart despaired,

I remember those echoes of moral code,

and stand strong in the presence of my greatest foe.

For no matter what the world presents,

there is no quandary, my heart cannot relent,

and no matter the pain or consequence given,

in my heart I know this life I'm living.

Instill your children with positive beliefs: love, compassion, empathy and kindness, and watch them blossom on earth. For the heart gives life meaning and is the key to fulfillment and happiness.

Lovely words of truth and wisdom, and that's what we need to instill in our children. Well said Tony.

Thanks Demas, glad you related; and thanks for the correction- so easy to miss little things. Much appreciated. Have a great day.

Nicely done and phrased. One minor correction: mother, or mothers ("all the words my mothers said, her wise and moral stance my pledge.")
