The Greatest Gift of All ~ A Poem

Source

Alrighty, Kitty Cat, you asked for it!

The Greatest Gift of All

All of my life I've been waiting

Searching for someone like you

Who can make me feel like new

And all of my life I've been praying

For just a little sunshine

But I never thought I'd find

The greatest gift of all

Without you where would I be

We're like the river and the sea

I'm wild and you're tame

You always catch me when I fall

You take away my pain

There were times I believed

That I just could not go on

I couldn't reach beyond

The wall I built around my heart

That dam crashed down with a start

You take away my pain

The greatest gift of all

Without you where would I be

We're like the river and the sea

I'm wild and you're tame

You always catch me when I fall

You take away my pain

And if we ever disagree

Your love pours gently forth

Until we unite with one force

Like the river and the sea

The greatest gift of all

Without you where would I be

We're like the river and the sea

So different yet the same

You always catch me when I fall

And you take away my pain

shanmarie,

It's beautiful, honestly... actually it's honest and beautiful :D Aren't we always wanting to someone to wipe the dirt of our knees of the past and kiss the boo boos and make us new again? To find it, is a gift and when it's real, it will last. I'm so glad you shared... truly enjoyed it!

Up, awesome and beautiful!

Cat

That's spoken like a mama, kissing boos and wiping knees. hehe. Kissing boo boos makes everything better, doesn't it. No more pain.

I'll post one in a second, Cat, called "The Game" and it is one that almost makes me cringe reading it. Haha....I'll fix a couple lines to make it a bit better and then I'll post it.

Very lyrical! I like the wild/tame line alot. Real love is so healing---such a beautiful message. :-)

Maybe some day I will put it to music...might even post some actual lyrics on here...too bad I don't have a way to share the music with them, and if I did, you wouldn't want to hear me sing. hehe

I am running into the same problem, trying to figure out how best to share songs. I do have an MP3 recorder that will do an audio track and I'm now trying to use a video camera (the next step will be getting it into a sharable file format) but of course both types of recordings have me singing in them. Sigh. It sounds so much better in my mind, LOL.

LOL. I enjoy singing, but I am far from a professional, even pitchy sometimes. And I can't harmonize to save my life because I'll start doing what the other person is doing. I don't even have an MP3 recorder, though I wish I did. I've got a couple of Nashville connections through my blog that gave me advice on "shopping" a song, but I need demos for them in MP3 format with an instrumental accompaniment of some kind. My preference, with someone else singing, haha. I can't stand the sound of my own voice - songs sound better in my head, too.

Sorry, so late to the game, ha ha get it, the game? Anyway, it's great... see, I told you people would be receptive and that proved to be true!

Haha. Okay, well, I'm not too proud to admit when I'm wrong....or not, as the case may. ;) winky wink ;). Seriously, there is little doubt people will be supportive around here. That's one of the nice things about HubPages. And you are most certainly among the most supportive. For that, you deserve a very heartfelt thank you!

shanmarie,

I guess you couldn't ask for a better platform... I think you should put any and all here, heck... I'm thinking about pulling out some of mine. :D

Aw, thanks... I get you! You are very welcome! I might take a minute to make it over, but I'm always on my way ;-)

Speaking of... you do have a new one up don't you..... on my way!

Shanmarie,

This is such a very beautiful and heartfelt write here.

Having those devoted friends who know what it truly means to love unconditionally is the best no doubt!

I love how you incorporated the wild and the tame and the river and the sea ... a dramatic touch.

Hugs, Faith Reaper
