The Hub Page Echo Chamber.........

Uh oh , I'm off on a rant.......

We can chose civility forever in
a world steeped in the lack of manners
Kindness even in the differences
go ahead and fly your banners

The smile of the executioner is
evident even on the day of the ends
We know not each others voice
but share the souls of friends

On the forums ......the broken language
of the united nations
And the bitterness too ..... though
instant in communications

Someone says something hurtful
and another is easily offended
Like a pile up on the fourlane
everyones just been rear-ended

Some hubs are known too .....occasionally for
unkind drivvel
Even the kindercenters are advanced more
in the chance to be civil

Such a beautiful chance for love in the
hub page echo chambers
But someone will be offended in this
open request for manners

Just a rambling about how powerfull a connection we all share here , maybe I'm over reacting or hypersensitive , However , I feel so strongly that there lies such a possitive and heartfelt connection herein the hub community ! If any good can come of humanity , it will be in the possitive aspects of hubbers alike , everywhere. oxoxo

ahorseback, sometimes ya just gotta do it! And you do it so masterfully! As I was posting my first comment, the thought ran through my brain..." gosh I hope he's not talking about meeeee..."

I have avoided the hub forums. I am open-minded though opinionated, argreeable though argumentative, flexible though tenacious.

There is little to gain opening oneself up to trollers, poseurs or spoilers who can nay-say and nit-pick, postulate and irritate more for their own entertainment than edification.

Civility is an increasingly rare commodity these days, and my tolerance has grown thin.

May your wish for manners be granted.

Hello Christopher, perhaps its me too !, not open minded enough . I think I may suffer from a small mind! Stay well.

My visceral reaction to your well composed plea for civility failed to give credit where it is due. I have found most hubbers to be reasonable, civil and articulate, but my limited sojourns into the realm of forums in general has tainted my take on the value of participation.

It is that insidious 1% that poisons my palate for the stew our melting pot may simmer.

Note the recent hub of the renown De Greek...a lion assaulted by piss-ants. Some battles are best won avoiding confrontation.

BTW: good hub.

Write on...rage on! Your mind's size in not in question!

:{) !!!

Christopher , I too find the confrontations of immaturity damning and dissappoiting . So many flatter themselves with supposed open minded intelligence in the forums and yet remain closed to any discussion. I personnely have seen more maturity in teenagers. Who are we , after all , if we cant show tolerance and civility. Thanks for reading and commenting Christopher.

Interesting rant my friend. I rarely go to the forums, not to say that I haven't gone at all, just very rare. Not really sure why I haven't ventured there ... now I am not so sure I want to. Maybe I will stick to the rare visit just to see whats going on there, then run back here to read sanity.

Glad your here to read. I agree with CP - good hub and write on!

your Right On,

Cheyenne

Cheyenne , I too go there rarely , and now to be rarer yet! It wouldn't bother me to eliminate the forums. C P's a good guy , and a neighbor too. Stay well my dear friend.

Yes ahorseback, *smile* hypersensitive, well good, if so, I know I am, and my father, mother and brothers. I have found a place to put it now :) Hub, is something else... I never would have expected what it has given, what so many kind and intelligent people have made it. Sometimes, I even think it could be making me a better person. In the act of sharing, of being able to give and receive kindness. People who listen, I am made happier. And I, like you in this wonderful piece, am grateful... peace and cheers to you ahorseback and to all you other hubbers who show me the brighter side of everyday. :D

ps, and my brain is not going soft :P
