The Imprisonment of the Compassioned

Somewhere deep in the halls of the imprisoned
the rusting iron holds a soul enshackled
The cold dampness of the stones
molded and formed by god
Solitude.....solitude such is the
cursed man
a life sentence often fulfilled
Doesn't he realize the wasted years each
moment scratched on the surface
of stone lined halls
Some record to be reckoned
a calender marked
on each day......forever
I saw him once .......blinking .... his
arm over his eyes
Emotionless eyes looked
right through me
And for just an instant for
a fraction of eternity
One moment.... I realized
the eye's were my own

Imprisoned in your own soul.

Unless you share your soul, then the doors open and you are free.

So keep sharing, my friend.

While reading this, my thoughts were at a prison, the prisoner marking the day's on a calendar, then i began to see it as a man in prison in his own mind. Deep thoughts.... Thank you.

Hi Always Exploring , Thank you , I used to be incredably shy as a young man. And even now can be a bit reclusive. But it's all good ! Nice to see you...:-]
