The Kiss Of Sunrise
The Kiss Of Sunrise
The day is finally waking up to greet me,
wide-eyed and bushy haired as I have been up for several hours already.
I see the hint of light peeking through the blinds,
and I hear clearly in my mind my grandmother's voice when I was so much younger
reminding me to "Make hay while the sun shines" and "The early bird catches the worm."
I hear the horn of the train in the distance as it warns of its approach.
The clack, clack, clack of the wheels on the track are so rhythmic.
No other sounds break through the air.
As I walk outside, I notice that the sky begins to take on a hint of orange
as the sun rises above the horizon.
Daytime stars seem to twinkle as the rays pass through the leaves
and branches of the bottle-brush tree,
kissing the dew that has settled like nights' tears on the grass below my feet.
The plants seem to awaken as the light gently dances across each one,
and they seem to stretch their leaves and stalks to say hello to the morning sun.
My face turns towards the sun and I let the first rays of the day gently kiss my cheeks,
my eyes closed, and my face slightly raised towards Heaven!
Sunrise Time-lapse
Do you enjoy watching the sunrise?
This song holds special significance for me. I can never listen to it without tears starting to fall.
