The Last Sunset on Earth

To those who didn't believe
that love could conquer all

To those who turned their backs
and walked away from hope

The sun sets on them this day;
their last sunset on this Earth

What breed of lies were whispered
into the ears of broken men,
whose hearts run dry as starving sand,
escaping ocean's waves again

We've all seen greater things than these
We've all lived better days
We've all caught glimpses, however brief,
of something more than this

When plotting leaders can plot no longer
When greedy deceivers fade
When homeless men are given refuge
Upon that time, we wait

What gift of sight to gaze upon;

the greatest one I've ever seen

The sun drifting softly beyond

horizons into mystery

This can't be real entirely,

no, too surreal to be

This floating sense of freedom's bliss

is surely just a dream

I follow blazing sunsets,

'till my melting wings collapse;

surfing waves of atmosphere,

while millenniums elapse

I know I will wait for the above to come true. Some call me a dreamer, nah I am just a believer. I believe things can be better and you see it too.

I loved both the poems, or however you meant them to be... women aren't the only deceivers the world sees.. No, I know that men and women play games... often go too far with them... but I don't want to talk about that.

It is this I want to comment on... these lines captured my soul...

I follow blazing sunsets,

'till my melting wings collapse;

surfing waves of atmosphere,

while millenniums elapse.

Oh! what beautiful poetry! Salute!
