The Lizard on My Window

There’s a Lizard on my window

And he’s looking right at me

But my dog is going crazy

Because he wants a bite, you see

And the Lizard on my window

Doesn’t know which way to go

Up or down, in or out,

He scurries to and fro

But the Lizard on my window

Has found a place to hide

And the dog sits waiting patiently

Keeping a watchful eye

But when the dog gets tired

And drifts off to sleep

The Lizard on my window

Away will quickly creep

Nice - made me smile. We get lizards crawling across the windows lots of time since I'm in Florida. Happy poem. Shared.

Thank you Angelo. Right after I posted this poem, my dog started barking and jumping at the window. I had not one, but two lizards on my window playing chase. I guess that will have to be another poem for another day.

Thank you Jackie, I like them too. They keep the mosquitoes and gnats to a minimum.

myownlife; thanks for the comment but don't feel sorry for the dog, he has captured a few of them and he needs the exercise as well.

Cute poem. I like lizards too. I do not like spiders and snakes.

Hi Becky, thanks for the read. I'm not fond of bugs of any kind, but I'm the spider terminator in my house as my husband is deathly afraid of them. Snakes? He's in charge of those, although I encourage him NOT to kill the non-poisonous ones as they keep the rodent population down. I guess everything has their place and purpose in the grand scheme of things.

If you have non-poisonous snakes around, they will keep the poisonous one out of there also. Never kill the non-poisonous ones. I am also the spider killer. I just don't like them.

To be honest, we haven't had snakes of any kind in several years. I credit that to my very protective dog who makes sure we are well looked out for. ;o)
