The Loving Pillow Fight
I wrote this poem based on a fun experience shared between my husband and I. I feel that it is very important to take time out to enjoy each other. We still have date night, pillow fights and water fights. We act younger than our kids. It keeps us young. It keeps our love alive. When we are in this mode, there are no worries about bills or everyday life. We just live in the moment.
Her husband tried to touch her and she said, “No!”
His constant persistence made her anger grow.
She said, “I don’t feel like playing right now!”
He said, “Feisty! Meow!”
Because of his advances, she learned her own self defense.
Blocking his hands with every instance.
He started to smile and kept on going?
Playfully she said, “If I pick up these pillows, I am going to start throwing!”
He covered his face and said, “I dare you to do it!”
She gave him his wish, right upside his head it hit.
He pretended like he was in slow motion and started to return the favor.
It seemed like he started to get braver.
As the pillows flew, she jumped behind the couch in order to take cover.
She was determined to pay back her unsuspecting lover.
Silence fell and all of a sudden their eyes met.
Her husband said, “I don’t know what your looking at because it’s not over yet!”
A loving pillow fight between husband and wife.
It don't hurt to enjoy the person that you are going to be with for the rest of your life.
