The Man Who Doesn't Exist

The Man who doesn’t exist

A fictional character made up to suit his needs

Had taken my heart, crushing it until it bleeds

I served it to him on a silver platter

He played with it like it didn’t mater

Promises were made which were all broken

Lies and deceit were the only words spoken

The utter betrayal came, a dawning realisation

He stuck a knife in with a deep intention

To maim and hurt with no redemption

Conning many others along his pathway

I’m the only one who knows his truth on this day

I pity the other victims he has hand picked for his pleasure

They will fall for this too, while he just sits back at his leisure

I know their faces as he brutally showed me

Having no names I can’t warn them to see

The pain they have coming is inevitable, a definite for sure

He can’t help himself, it’s what women are for

A liar and a cheater, he calls them whores

So this is my blessing I did not know before

A save for me but they’ll be many more

The numbness I feel has frozen my heart

If it wasn’t for one thing I’d be falling apart

He doesn’t exist apart from in mind

A figment of imagination, loving and kind

He does not exist, a creative piece of fiction

The love that I gave was to his imagination

I’ve taken my heart back, he doesn’t exist

Wow. You'll have a huge following writing like this. Im very impressed. Lots of pain and anger here, and also light at the end of the tunnel. And the photo is perfect. Great job. Rated up and awesome....

Thanks so much Stan. I feel flattered that you think so. I felt the need to express myself, to get it out. I'm stronger every day now :)

Broken hearts and dashed expectations take time. Glad to hear you're doing better. There are some good guys left in the world....

I had read the happy one first but i kinda thought this one was meant to be first after I read them both. Leave it to me to read backward. I am glad you are happier now. You are so beautiful, smart, kind and loving. Any man would be honored and blessed to have you. Just be selective this time because you deserve the best. It seems that we usually find Mr. Right when we are not looking. I've ran into a whole lot of Mr. Wrongs! lol. I want to wring this guy in the poem's neck. I can't even put an lol after that! You did not deserve the treatment you got from that jerk.

I really like your poetry and look forward to reading many more from you. And as you know, I'm not usually a poetry lover, so believe me, you are good!

You made me go ahhh several times! You are a very sweet caring person Lisa and say such kind things.

Hmm maybe that's where I went wrong, not being selective enough...I have forgiven him as I'm not going to imprison myself with a grudge or any hate feelings, don't have that in my life and not going to start now.

You have inspired me truly! Not for looking for mr right, but to keep writing. I put these on here thinking well they may not go down well but I enjoy writing them so hey ho! Thanks a mill!! x

Dawn,

What a powerful piece. Lisa Preston pointed me to it. I'm very sorry about the pain this predator caused to you and other women. I hear the pain in your words and see it on your face. I only hope you can transcend it by sharing your story and helping others. I hope to have the courage to write about abuses someday, too. Your piece is helping me get closer to that. Don't let this F---- keep you down, OK?

Jack the writer.... it's okay hon, I really appreciate the time taken you have given to me. I'm getting there hon, really I am. Your another that I take as precious. I know you are, or Lisa wouldn't have bothered letting you know.

It's ok I'm not letting this get me down. In any way.

I feel inspired!

You have lifted my spirits! :)

Users and abusers come in both genders. I'm sorry you went through this, but you seem to have made the best of it...this was a powerful and cathartic poem.

Well written. And that photo is perfect!

Good luck on encountering someone who deserves you.
