The Master's Quill

The Master's Quill

I love how the morning sun peeks through

the canopy of forest trees,

and how the rain lays delicately

and glistens on the leaves.

I love the moss that sculpts the path

as its hues and textures blend.

I love the fresh and woodsy smells

and the essence they extend.

I love the soothing mantra of

the cicadas as they sing,

accompanied by the tune of birds,

with their mystic, haunting ring.

I love how the shadows shift and sway,

chased by the sun rays' light

and how the leaves whisper tenderly

and dance in the wind's delight.

I love the sense of good will and life

and hope in the forest still.

It is here I find His autograph

that is signed by the Master's Quill.

Sunnie, thank you so very much. The forest is my refuge of late, and where I feel God's Presence and Love.

A very beautiful poem. I especially like the words "I love the soothing mantra of the cicadas as they sing" as it reminds me of the east. In Japan they are called semi.

Thank you.

Hello Spirit Whisperer, thank you so much. Here in Maryland, the cicadas "chant" round the clock during these summer months...and echo through the tall trees. It is a comforting sound.

I loved how you attributed mother nature and her beauty she lays before us. The author of life, the hand of our Master extended with a Quill. Painted a beautiful picture with pictures, I could smell the rain, the moss, the leaves, the earth as I journeyed through your woods. Well done, bravo.

This poem is really lovely. It does what I believe all good poems should do, which is to impart an experience. Reading it made me feel as if I was walking through the woods surrounded by the glorious creation that is earth. The pictures were also beautiful.

tnderhrt23, I have perused the inspirational poetry hubs today looking for a poem to which I could relate. I am glad to announce that upon reading yours, I have achieved my quest. My wife and I are veteran Appalachian trail hikers, so our sensitivities are attuned to those expressed by your lyrics. Thumbs up, beautiful, and you have a new follower. Regards, Robert
