. . . And Other Cries for Revival

For those of you that know me, you know my spiritual interest lies in revival. I long to see the glory of God resurrected in this nation once again. Dark days have invaded America, and unless something drastic takes place to change the moral and spiritual fiber of this great country, darker days are coming.

I know that many of you share my passion for this country. I know that I don't stand alone in seeking the face of God on behalf of America. Know that God sees every tear. Know that God hears every prayer that we cry unto Him. He is faithful.

The Measure of Faith: And Other Cries for Revival

I have just finished my latest project, The Measure of Faith - And Other Cries for Revival. It is now available at Amazon.com. but I do have a special offer for you at my author's website. Just order the Package Deal at the Web Store and you'll receive three different books for $15.00. Be sure to check it out. This is available at www.thegreatamericanfast.org or amazon.com.

Now - back to the issue at hand . . . .

What will it take for America to turn around? Is America too far gone? Is there any hope? First of all, let me say that - no, America is not too far gone, and yes, there is hope. Jesus Christ is the ultimate hope, but even He won't force us to change. And change must take place. For America to continue on the crooked path it is now following will only bring its destruction. Still, I'm not looking for change in the nation's politics. I'm not looking for change to come from our public school systems. I'm not looking for a rise in the moral thermometer of the nation.

The church is made up of families. If the families are ministered to at all levels, the church will be strong. If not, the church will incur weakness and at the very best fall into compromise. Quite often, closing the church doors for good is the end result. You, in full-time service for the Lord, are you loving and leading your flock for God in a positive, but yet scriptural way? Do the children feel as much a part of your ministry as hopefully the adults do? How about the teens? Do you preach the wrath of God as much as you do the love of God? Do you preach and teach holiness as a lifestyle, or do you back away from preaching on sin? Do you preach and teach service to the Lord as much as you teach sitting at His feet? It's time to get real!

We are definitely living in the last days and our precious America is going to hell to the tune of 169.2 people a minute. That's 10,152 people each hour or 243,648 people each day. No matter who you are - husband, preacher, wife, teenager, it's time to get serious about what you profess. Now is the time to move. Tomorrow will be too late because today will be gone.

Are you willing to step up for the Lord? (Know that to not make a choice is to make a choice.)

  • Yes, somewhat depending on how He leads.
  • Yes, however He leads, I will follow.
  • No, my faith is too small.
  • No, but I'm working on it.

Don't underestimate the power that God has entrusted to you. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." You have the ability to step up. You have the capacity to make a difference in someone's life. So just do it. Quit being passive. Quit being lazy. Quit wasting time. Reach out to someone. Be a blessing instead of always seeking to be blessed.

Let the love of Christ drive you to serve Him with every ounce of your being. James 1:22 gives us this challenge - "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." Don't be afraid of burning out for Christ. He'll keep the light shining and the fire going if you just do your part. Decide right now that there will be no more back seat Christianity for you; that you will serve God with the only life you have. Someday this world will be over. The only thing you can take with you is souls that you led to Christ. That's all. Don't go empty-handed.

Beautiful and so true and please don't get mad but I am picturing a meter somewhere measuring those going into hell. Guess I never thought along those lines before. How do you know that? It certainly is not funny for it really is such a shame with salvation being so simple. I would be pleased if I could help even one avoid that destiny. Look at that thief on the cross, it shows we have a chance of helping someone, maybe up to the very end of life. We should never give up.

Hi Jackie,

It's been estimated that three people die every second. That's 180 a minute and polls, etc. put the number of the lost at about 94-98%. I took the more positive figure of 94% and got out my calculator. Anyway, I believe many people have been saved on their deathbed. God is so gracious and His mercy is so deep. As always - glad to hear from you.

I hope someone heeds the warning. We're falling fast and that's not good thing. Keep on keeping on, Sister.

Hi lifegate, thank you not only for writing this hub, but for the discount on the books. I did go to your site and reviewed the books on sale. They look very good. I bought the package deal. I think it will help me teach my daughter. She really needs it. She has Autism. There is a lot she does not understand, and it is so hard to explain things she cannot see.

God bless you.

Hi Michele,

Glad the hub was meaningful to you, and I hope the books will be as well. I'm sure your daughter is doing just fine. God will give her what she needs when and how she needs it. I'll be praying for her, and if you wanted to add her on The Great American Fast prayer list, feel free to do that as well. Blessed by your visit!

MsDora,

You're quite welcome. I wrote a reply earlier and looked down and it was gone - not sure what happened. Anyway, I'm not sure about an altar call, but I do want to challenge us to live full-tilt for the Lord. Especially as I get older, I realize the necessity of making every minute count. As always - thanks for stopping by.

Lifegate,

When I look at America from the outside looking in, I have a hard time seeing any hope for a nation that have their leaders in defiance against God. When I look at America with spiritual eyes, I see same. I often feel that is what America deserves for abandoning God.

I am then reminded of Jonah and how he personally felt about the people in Nineveh, but God changed his perception of them and he was able His will.

I am thankful for the obedient and faithful in America who love their nation and are bold enough to call their nation back to repentence. Hopefully, just like Nineveh, God will change His mind before it's too late.

May we ask God for the same message that He gave Jonah to become a sign to the men and women of America. May we be bold enough to proclaim His message to stay God's judgement.

Hi PnN,

I have to agree with you, and on the inside looking out. America is heading down a dangerous path and whether her leaders ever get it right or not, I guess only time will tell. But the church has no excuse. We know what it's about, and yet we turn a deaf ear to the One calling us back. We (the church) ignore the only hope we have. Only God's mercy will keep us from getting what we deserve. Thanks for the visit and the encouragement in a very dark world.

An inspiring exhortation to continue to humble ourselves and pray because as you state...

"unless something drastic takes place to change the moral and spiritual fiber of this great country, darker days are coming"

Congratulations on your publications.

Thanks TJ, It's always good to hear from you. Let's just pray for something drastic to take place.

Yes, these are very dark times for America and the only way for a revival to happen if "we the people" humble ourselves before the Lord and ask for a great revival for the people to return to God. There are so many lost, even in my very own family.

Voted up ++++ and sharing

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Hi Faith,

These are dark times and the only thing that will scatter the darkness is the Light of Jesus Christ. May we as a nation realize that and come back to Him. Thanks for making the trip. Thanks for the vote and share.

Bill
