Poem | The Mirror

Whose image you want to show?

That’s not me! No, Never, No!

See the eyes!

Shameless, selfish, brutal eyes!

Looking to the world with endless desire!

As if he owns everything!

The beautiful morning sky,

Colored like the shy face of the

Newly married bride!

The cool soft touch of the breeze!

The dancing crop in the ever green field!

The lovely swans on the dark calm water!

The colorful little shy buds,

Kissed by the naughty dew!

The cute little girl playing with her dog!

The beautiful sea birds flying over the deep blue water!

The playful penguins in the frozen sea!

Those greedy eyes seems to swallow

Each and everything on the earth,

Which he loves!

Oh Mirror!

Whose image do you want to show?

Am I so greedy?

Am I so selfish?

Am I so shameless?

No, that’s not me, No, Never, No!

Cupid...Welcome to Hubpages...Your expressive prose will find sweet company here...I'm just starting to read your Hubs and look forward to your excellent use of English in a difficult medium for an ESL writer...

This poem strikes me as self-deception defined, and the inevitable reconciliation with reality ( the mirror )...Thank you for sharing this with us...Larry

Thank you Larry for visiting my hub. I am really happy for the sweet and analytical comment you have made on my poem. Even I wouldn’t have been able to explain it in such a beautiful manner. Thanks again.
