The One Hundred Club: Hubbers who have reached one hundred readers
Followers from Around the World
I've read several hubs by people who have reached one hundred followers. "What a wonderful thing," I thought each time I read one. Now, much to my delight and surprise I have reached one hundred and one! It happened overnight. I had ninety-eight when I went to bed and one hundred and one when I woke up. Must be a lot of night owls out there. This is almost like joining the Mile High Club...well I did say almost.
Followers are the meat and potatoes of hubpages. Without their input you wouldn't know who likes your hubs or why. They provide you with useful information, tips on everything you can imagine, interesting stories and poems, but most of all they support you in all you do and become your friends. Anyone who doesn't belong to hubpages - read on, this may help encourage you to join.
When you start out here, strangers from across the world become people you 'talk' with on a daily basis. They're no longer strangers and you have friends in foreign lands. Friends you would never have met anywhere else. I know I will never get to India, though I would love to! Then there's Ireland, Argentina, Hawaii (though not a foreign land, for its distance and beauty it might as well be), the Philippines, South Africa, to name but a few. Everyday is like taking a world tour. Many hubbers write about their hometown giving you a real insight into foreign people and lands. It's like having your very own Nat Geo!
I've added a few personal photos to help everyone get to know me a little better.
People on Hub Pages
And the people themselves! You can't imagine how nice it is to meet these folks and become their friends. Mikeq107 born in Ireland but living in the US. Mike and his wife are both on hubpages. Mike is a humorist and a religious man, he calls me Tilly! Nell Rose, from England, is one of my early followers and lives in England, she brings scenes of the English countryside along with her other writings. Diogenes from the UK and Mexico who has published over 300 hubs, a journalist who brings much to hubpages and much good advice to me! Feenix from NYC, born in California, patriotic and political; Vincent Moore, from Canada who grew up and lives in Canada and writes poetry; Peter Lumetta now living in Alaska, Appraiser, Gold miner, Real Estate Broker and gemstone and diamond buyer both rough and cut; fpherj48 from western NY who writes with humor; Vinaya Ghimire, a Hindu writer, photographer and a gardener who writes haiku and takes wonderful photographs. The list obviously goes on. I can't take the space here to write about each of these wonderful people who have helped me on hubpages. There are after all one hundred and one including Steve Lensman, PDKaraoke Guy, the jeffriestube, Cathkath, and so on! I am grateful to all one hundred and one of my followers and hope to form bonds with all of them. I have always been a people person and must admit I am really enjoying the people. It's an exciting way to meet people and learn so much. Sadly some come and go so as this hub is read in the future some of those mentioned may no longer be on Hub Pages but new ones have joined and like the Lion King, the Circle of Life goes on.
You name the subject and there's a hub about it. Just about anything you can think of. Do a search on hubpages and you'll find articles that will make you laugh, make you cry, educate you, titillate your political views, show you gorgeous scenery, tell you how to do just about anything. Recipe hubs are a delight and there are even some accompanied by Flash Fiction.
Did I mention you can make money on Hub Pages? It is more of an incidental thing to a true writer, but you really can. How much you make depends on a lot of variables, but there's money in them there hubs.
Hubpages has been a great place to be and I hope to continue to be here and meet more hubbers and read lots more hubs. Thanks to all of you!
