A Magickal Birthday Wish To Fly Like A Rocket Comes True

I dream
Only one dream
It is the saddest dream really

I fly in my dream
But it seemed to be
The saddest dream I never dreamed

All my life I had one dream
Where I was looking up into the sky
Said to myself I wish I could be up there
With the astronauts and those satellites
And if only the science could arm me
With powers and explosives
And if only my magick could enchant me
With levitation and some lightning
Still I remembered why
Looking straight up at the night
I wished that was me up and away there
If I could just build a rocket then I'd fly
So I dream of the night in my arms
Alone on my longest journeys
And dreams of my willingness
Came on my birthday with the full moon high
Heat beating and then I conceived
How I could get there

I was in a dream
But it seemed to be
The saddest dream I never dreamed
I dream my darkest and cloudiest suit
Please let me fly now, fly now like I am
Because I am a rocket, see me, see me

If I put on this pointy black witchy hat
And this shiny black, red and silvery suit
If I take this gunpowder charge set it on fire
With my broomstick holding on with one hand
And then like a rocket I launch from the bridge
As the explosion shoots me up towards the sky
From the boxes on fire explosions of dynamite
Fueling their power with my mind
Causing my body to rise
Channeling the forces of science and sorcerers
And then on my rocketing broomstick in flight
As I watch the Earth seems to fade out of sight

I awake in a dream
But it seemed to be
The saddest dream I never dreamed
I dream my darkest and cloudiest suit
Please let me fly now, fly now like I am
Because I am a rocket, see me, see me

Reaching into my pocket
I awake frightened and falling fast
Falling down like a rocket
And then as my broomstick catches fire
My love is for flying I realize still wasn't ready
All at once as I am falling, there is no one to save me
It wasn't me there...because I am a rocket
Wasn't my time to fly why couldn't I see
All I ever wanted was the dream
But now I wish that I had wings
I wish and for someone to help me
But there is no one as I am
Falling down like a rocket
Endlessly

I die in my dream
But it seemed to be
The saddest dream I never dreamed

Poetic Notes and History on by Blake4d

Sometimes dreams are not what you expect them to be. When you work hard and realize them, sometimes you misjudge the reality of things around you. This is the story of someone who had a dream that was beautiful, but ends up being tragic in its execution and ending. It is a simple kind of story with only on moral, know what you are getting yourself into. I modeled the idea after the Greek myth about the flight of Icarus, so if there is any similarity it is intentional. My love of the Greek myths has on occasion let me to adapt them into my own mythologies. Otherwise it is one of my songs that did not turn into music, occasionally the muses stop you in midstream. But I like this one enough to put it out there and take the risk for those readers who might enjoy it as well. It also is a parody on the folly of people who have misguided mystical beliefs, to stay grounded even in your practice of magic. In other words. " Careful Icarus."

Have you created or thought of a music for it yet? With this refrain it's almost asking to be a song.

Interesting again. Deep. I love flying dreams. I used to have them a lot and miss having them.

I have them still, but I dream way more than I have any say about. Keep on Hubbing. Blake4d

How often I have dreamed I was flying only to have it end too soon.
