The Scars of War (a tribute to the fallen)
Wars come...and with them, a trial, that burns,
Humanity is given another hard lesson to be learned,
The purge of evil...hatred rooted from its source...
The strength of nations, then so justly earned.
No matter the causes, the unworthiness represented...
Good is to come, despite the horrors, in the end,
A more powerful people...with their determination, defend,
Tried by fire, and earned...far greater to transcend.
The cost of men...their souls to flee...as faces turn,
Beyond the battles, across the most tumultuous sea,
Homeward bound...and there to rest, a peace to earn,
As blood has flown, now no more, and no war to be.
Waiting arms of brothers...there, collect all to remain,
Through tears of sorrow... endurance of the pain.
Memories of joy and days of much happiness...
All to be left...and of their loved ones, to remain.
Wars are a part of all humanity...ours at our worst,
And seen in such greed, the seeking of power, first.
Just as the sun to set, and then rise at its dawning, bursts,
New wars arise, this, humanity's saddest hour, as cursed.
Yet, a new strength...the true power, coming from inside,
The spirit shall prevail...over all, each time spent in hell.
The truth and resilience of righteousness...does so reside,
and in its message gained, lessons learned very well.
Wars are spawned by creatures, those of a devious mind...
The tragedy and waste, those bad products, it leaves behind.
Recovery from war...through its scars and a continuing pain...
Plants seeds of hope, and through this time, is ours to gain.
The shining spirit, that a part of every empowered soul,
Stands above the battle strewn fields...arm in arm, as bold.
Our gracious God and creator, of this, our own human race,
Fashioned us in his likeness,,,together, as all, we shall embrace.
