The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles: A Book Outline

The Science of Getting Rich

I have read a whole barrage of self help books and books that claim that once read your life will change forever. Most of the books that I have read do anything but change my life, however this book is pretty much the book to read if you want to understand the concept of the Law of Attraction. This book actually inspired the best selling book “The Secret” The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles is one of those books that once you actually start reading it, you will not be able to put it down.

I read it about three years ago actually and I recently read it again to give me some inspiration because I feeling a little low. It worked, this book tells you how you can use the power of the mind to attract anything that you want in life. Health, happiness, love and as much money as you could ever dreamed of in your life. It does sound really really unrealistic however, it is the most realistic thing you will ever read.

Speak to anyone who has become massively successful and they will tell you that they had no doubt that they would achieve what they have achieved. They believed it, they lived it, they breathed it on a daily basis and they achieved it. The mind is a very powerful tool, it is a very very powerful thing. You can use it to achieve almost anything you put it to, and that is what Wattles was trying to tell us in his masterpiece “The Science of Getting Rich.”

Wattles conveys the notion that in order to be fully and truly happy in life we need to have money. We need to be rich. Some may not agree with this but when you are rich you have access to whatever it is you want. You can travel the world without a care in the world, you can buy whatever you want without looking at the price. You can give your children the best education, you can live life to the fullest. He states that we can all live life in abundance if you do things the right way, there a science to getting rich he claims. An exact science, if we do exactly what we are supposed to do we will get rich no matter what. That science is having the right mindset, becoming rich, it all starts in the mind. The mind is a very powerful thing and we can use it to achieve anything we want to achieve in life.

If you want to improve your life, and change your life for the better then this is probably the book that you should reach for first. The Secret, The Power of Positive Thinking and various other books were all inspired by the is book so it is a good idea to start here.

I have watched "The Secret" and I have read bits of "The Science of Getting Rich" and "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. The Secret really was just an updated, slick video version of Wattles book. I don't believe that there is any science involved, because there was no secret revealed in The Secret! Peale's book title pretty much sums it up: Think positively. Is that a guarantee of wealth and success? Absolutely not. You can think positively and still have a miserable life. But, like that advice Mom gave us when we were young (always wear clean underwear), trying to think a bit more positively probably couldn't hurt.

Thank you so much for your comment. Thinking positive never really does anyone any harm. I think a lot of people don't realise that you have to actually work too! You can't just think positive and the success is handed to you on a plate. When you work and believe you can do it, it will happen. I have tried this myself and it does work, it just makes it easier to keep on going through times when you just want to give up.
