The Spider's Revenge
“I curse they dry and rattling bones
Buried in the sewers below!
How dare you use your dying breath
For revenge, my cunning foe!”
“A pox on thee, you’ve called your friend!
So now I shall call mine!”
(For I am too short to reach the heights
This fiend has seen fit to climb)
Comes my sister with a shoe
To squish the beast down flat
And so we thought it the end of revenge
Because that was the end of that
“But hark! And see the beast still lives!
It moves along the wall!
Call for reinforcements now!
We need the tallest of all!”
Comes my niece with her own shoe
To face off with the beast
For though she is the youngest
She is most certainly not the least
She swings once and misses
As the spider leaps to attack
He lands safely on the ground
But her shoe comes down with a smack!
“So take notice, you spidery fiends
If revenge is on your minds
For there are more where I hail from
Who are happy to slay your kind.”
