The Splendour That Danced in The Core of my Being. A Dedication to MsDora
For Your Patience and Fortitude; For Being My Friend
‘Twas way down the river, that I saw my Sweet One,
Caught a twinkling star; rode beauty on the dawn.
Her cute curls She flaunted, made my heart dry its tears;
My spirit undaunted, abolished all fears.
Her eyes sparkled sweetly, gave radiance to the moon,
Such grandeur and majesty, Heaven’s sweet boon.
She gave me a smile, so charmingly unsullied,
My heart sent Her roses; my longing; my need.
Long eons of darkness; many lonely nights gone,
The shadows decay, now my Light is the Sun.
I do feel in my core, an inebriate high,
My Soul’s in rhapsody; I promise the sky.
The Earth glowed beneath Her, and the moon was Her Light,
She peeped into my Soul, and offered Delight.
Love entered sweetly; I felt happily sheltered;
I reached up to Heaven, drunk and bewildered.
The sweet current did whisper, and shimmer with zeal,
My mind was a blur, but the heart could still feel,
A beautiful Spirit, seeking out the unseen –
Splendour that danced in the core of my Being.
