The Summer Like a Dove

That last summer

like a dove

with a broken wing

didn’t let me reach

the highest heights

days more rainy

than sunny

less blue skies

more silvery gray

the morning dew

replaced by raindrops

as the day went on

only a handful of mornings

when the sun started calling

white clouds sailing by

before I could spread my wings

the storm clouds came rolling in

it was the summer

that never really began

with blue skies

and sun rays dazzling

the eyes

left grounded

my wings clipped

that rainy summer

hid so very well

the tears I cried for you

everyone thought it was the rain

that made me so blue

The sorrow of parting in so many ways than one. All can be painful. Flies away, like the Dove... is Bruce still going strong?

Excellent Hub!

This is so sad, Rasma. But you've captured a sad soul perfectly. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I've felt like this a few times in my life. The good news is after every rain, the sun comes out and creates a rainbow full of hope and smiles.

That is most important that when you feel down or the day is gray eventually that sun comes shining and you start feeling much better.
