A Heart Born of Solitude.......

I watched from the curtains ....a reaction
of defined sensation
The violin sways mimicing the
waves and rolling surf
or some soft warm breeze
Some lost part of me wishes
to see the hands as they slide
the bow slicing into tissue
As if she tears my emotions .....
one slice at a time as thin as
the fabric
in the shawl.....
Draping over her shoulders
I look to my hands and then
back to the image ............
No..... my hands will never rest where
her shawl lays across her shoulder.........
My hands will never play like
that sound.....like this image as I
close my eye's .......
There is no such love as
unknown , unfelt and untouched.........
Put down the violin and
touch me as ever you would.......
And never play again
so beautifully.......

I have girlfriends who fall in love with the performer every time we see a concert. For me it is always the poets.

Hi Randy Behavior, Thanks for reading , really! I have an [too]active imagination and a longing soul from youth. I am always struck by the amount of emotion some people put into music , and I wish I could play anything, always thought if I played the guitar I would never need a friend or lover. Poetry is beautiful. I think the first and most remembered poem for me was "The Wreck of the Hesspress " . A great old sea faring poem. :-}

The appreciation of music is no better instrument to define the musician's playing/feel of expression. A composer doesn't stop working at fnding just the right note, the one that magically feels right, sounds right and hits upon a nerve ending sending shivers up and down one's spine... Like you with words and how they magically combine to express a greatness of heart and soul..always leaving in its wakefulness lingering thoughts to reflect upon, thanks for being you and sharing your wonderful Hubs,

MM

I love this, my friend. You capture an intangible feeling and make it more tangible, with fingers on the strings, the shawl on the shoulders and the subtle yearning for either or both. Truly lovely.
