The Tomorrow That Today Refuses To Know

Living is easy if you always believe what you were taught long ago
You won’t change your mind because it’s better to argue than to grow
One day you decided to look up and you saw a girl sitting in a tree
Maybe she’s saving us from ourselves as your future has become her destiny

Who will accept a bullet so mankind can live free?
Who will be trampled just to save a tree?
Is it you?
Is it me?
Is it somebody you know
Or somebody you can’t see?

Squirrels once walked across the land on a high green canopy
The woodsman knew the balance between predator and prey
But the seeds of discord were sown in bondage and waste
And courage became defined by the sacrifice of those in the way

Who will accept a bullet so mankind can live free?
Who will be trampled just to save a tree?
Is it you?
Is it me?
Is it somebody you know
Or somebody you can’t see?

Who gives their life up to ridicule, peril and suffering?
Who gives their life to the next generation for nothing?
Who stands before progress and asks why is it so?
Who sees the tomorrow that today refuses to know?

Who will accept a bullet so mankind can live free?
Who will be trampled just to save a tree?
Is it you?
Is it me?
Is it somebody you know
Or somebody you can’t see?

Can you see a clear running stream?
Can you breathe air that is clean?
Do you believe in the earth or mankind?
For without the earth what man will God find?
