The Twelve Kingdoms

Story Guide

In no way do I take claim to any of the stories or translations that this document links to. The purpose of this site is to help fans of this series be able to find translations of the story as well as where the story fits into the overall scheme of things.

This story was originally published as a series of books that then were made into an anime. Unfortunately, the anime ended without addressing all of the content that was present in the books, leaving fans of the series wanting more. If you are a person that is interested in a great story and don't mind having to deal with the annoyances of a flawed character (who grows a good deal in a very positive way) then this is a good story to expose yourself to.

She later worked certain events from this novel into the Twelve Kingdoms series. This story shares some of the first chapter with Sea of Wind, Shore of the Labyrinth (t1) but then goes to explain the events that take place afterwards even though it was written first.
