The War Upon Darkness- Chaptire 1

I first saw her when I looked out my window after hearing a crashing noise. I saw a figure in the road- literally, in a hole from the impact- and immediately went into stealth mode. I crept closer to the window to get a better look. It stood slowly, unfolding its body like it was painful to stand after the crash landing. When it was standing straight, it unfurled its wings.

I know what you're thinking. You think you should stop reading this because its a vampire story full of crappiness and romance, just like every other story that has a beggining like the one above. But I tell you there are no such things as vampires, werewolves, blahdy blahdy blah. There are creatures like us that have abilities, ways of doing things we wouldn't think of. They are truly amazing, capable of doing things far beyond human comprehension. So you can still put this story away, but you'll never find out how it ends.

Her wings were pure black, like a bad omen. Her hair was long and black, and she had yellow eyes. We made eye contact, and, unable to resist the urge to, I opened my window.

That's when my life really began.

I was a 15- year old at that time. I was young and foolish. Oh, I should probably introduce myself. I am Jesse Kurtis. I live in Prague, Czech Republic, Europe. Nice city, you should visit it if you ever get the chance.

I called out to her. "Hey! Do you need help?" My bedroom is on the second story. She looked up at me and nodded urgently. "Come on!" I waved my hand at her. She ran up to my house and jumped through the window. The second story window. None of my friends could do that. She wore a dress that looked like something Chi from Chobits would wear. Yeah, I'm an anime junkie. When she landed, she shut my window and sat down, her knees tucked under her and her hands on the ground, holding her weight. She looked me in the eyes.

"Thank you."

"You're quite welcome." I paused, smiling. "What's your name?"

"Kurai." Just then, we heard soft bumps outside. She moved to the window and I came up beside her. There were ugly beasts near the spot she had landed. They had scrunched noses and their faces were gruesomely deformed. Their skin color wasn't like that of any humans', but rather had some sort of greenish tint to it, from what I could see in the darkness of night. Kind of like Orcs from Lord of the Rings. Hmm. Sniffing near the spot that Kurai had crash-landed, they spoke a strange language, then flew off. They didn't have wings, at least not from what I saw. Kurai sighed, turned and collapsed, wiping her forehead.

"What were those things?" I asked, sitting on my bed.

"I honestly have no idea. But they're really scary. What's your name?" Emphasis on the scary.

"Jesse. Jesse Kurtis. Do you need somewhere to stay?"

"Yes, please. My father sent me on vacation with my friends, but we got seperated when those things attacked us."

"Are you hurt?"

"No, not anymore." I was about to ask what she meant, but I shook the thought away. I went to my desk and threw her a water bottle.

"Stay here. I'll make you a bedroom of sorts." I literally meant that. I got and idea from and anime I watched where a guy had bedding in his closet that he used as a makeshift bed for his friend. It kept his friend hidden from his family, which was a bonus, so I made one like that. She went to bed almost immediately. I decided to do some research on her, see what she was. I typed things like, "flying humans" and "angels on earth" into the searchbar. Turns out there have been human avianoid sightings for hundreds of years around the world. She was a tenshi, an anzhela. An angel.

That is the beginning of a story I would absolutely read. I truly reading fiction here in between all the reality articles. I think I'll keep an eye out for more about the Tenshi...
