The Weed of Greed

The Weed of Greed

Greed is an insidious weed,
invasive, it tends to lack heed...
by intent it will tangle,
by nature will mangle,
tainting the purest of deed.

Greed, taken root, will succeed
to litter its path with its seed...
Its insatiable desire,
as a great thorny briar,
with pomp will consume as it breeds.

Greed is a sin to the creed.
It is sneaky, though tacit, indeed.
In a man, will design
the taste of his wine,
corrupting the fruit with its need.

Very cleverly worded poem to describe a bottomless pit that can never be filled because that which the greedy crave is love. The money and material possessions they pursue are very poor substitutes.Thank you.
