The Man who never ate food from the soul

I never thought that my soul could be healed

by someone who never ate food from the soul

or walked the concrete in sole-less shoes

He never walked in the path

or felt the pain

But he heals my pain

and whispers sweet things

He worships my curves

and kisses my lips

my big beautiful lips

and caresses these hips

He holds my hand as I move to the back of the bus

and he stands in the back

and devises a plan to be the man

that takes me off the bus

never to be pushed in the rear

but to ride by his side in a luxurious ride

so no more back

and no more pain

and no more servant

Never again

To struggle for someone

who will succeed and be gone

But I will succeed with this man

and suck on the tit of our progress

as we progress to a level of success

that our children will feel

to never work the fields

and never beg for bread

and never hurt again because of our skin

so no more back

and no more pain

and no more servant

Never again

And no more waiting for someone to find themself

to find out themselves is not right for me

and when my pale competitor come you always leave

leave me alone

with your dark secrets at home

to raise them alone

while you set up a home

with your fair skinned counterparts

Not wanting to be apart

of anything dark

darker than a paper bag

so no more back

and no more pain

and no more servant

Never again

Never again will my eyes be closed

Ive loosened the hold

that held me back

from loving a man

that will love me back

and worships the difference

even though we are the same

below the skin

I found my friend

and the mate of my soul

even though he never ate food from the soul

so no more back

and no more pain

and no more servant

Never again
