The Yearning of Secrets

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

Secrets live in the shadow of truth,

so close as to tease revelation into a frenzy,

pleading the light at every turn,

searching for the balance of misguided intents.

Like a beacon a guilty conscience glows,

the undercurrent of a shallow pretence,

a veil often in tact through persistence and repetition,

yet for some, the lies obvious and blatant.

Secrets are tethered to reality, no matter how refuted,

like a string of lacklustre pearls around your neck,

in plain sight yet tainted and unnoticeable,

blended into their host, melding with flesh.

The longer secrets are kept the more they infest,

truth becoming smeared into a dream like reality,

where connection is lost in the lies of misguidance,

and the host no longer recognises what is and what isn't.

Secrets yearn for freedom,

the peace of realisation and becoming whole,

and in desperation will flee any concealment given a modicum of light,

and the sweet release of resolution.

Like dark probing roots, secrets invade our lives,

undermining thought and action,

until they are transformed into accepted truth,

and forgiveness is sought to ease the pain of intolerable ineptitude.

Hi Tony,

Loved the dark nature of your secret and it caused a dark moment that I will express because you made the moment :

A secret is forever pledged until an individual is blessed

With Catholic taint, dressed in black

To reveal a truth more sorry that our countries past

Black, white and then more, much more black
