Writing poetry was a treat for me , when I was thirteen, but when I got to an abusive husabnd ; my writing skills was put on an indefinite hold. when I married my second husband, he inspired me to start writing again,because he was musicially inclined. Even though I could expresss verbally, I realized that I could exprss myself better by writing my feelings down on paper. Writing for me had gotten to be a big stress reliever.
When ever I became bogged down with pent - up emotions all I had to do was to pick up my pen a paper and begin to write until I was stress free. There might be many of you that haven't figured it out yet, but maybe have realized that ; when you write you become calm and more at peace with your self. Writing for many of us is vert therapuetic for us, because it's the essence of our being and the drive that keeps up picking up the pen and paper.
If you don't want to take my word for it, let's try an experiment, on a day when you're down and out ,and feeling as though you don't have a friend in the whole world; pick up your pen and paper and start to write about it. Pay close attention to your feelings and emotions once you finish writing. You have just put all your hurt , aggravation and lonliness down on paper;and after you finished writing your mind is in a peaceful and creative state.
Writing is a great commnication tool, plus it's also a way to heal our frustrations and our on going emotions, every day. Writing can be a constant companion for you and a permanent source of inspiration to keep us going.
