The Edge of the Blade......

I touch my finger to the edge of the sword
and drag it across the blade
I was remembering a recurring dream
from out of my mind often forbade

A nightmare more than likely at least
thats the case as in the dark
I dreamt of fighting and wars
swords finding their mark

Often's feeling sharp edges as they
penetrate my flesh
The sharp insistent burning pains
a sword presents it's best

And then the taste of blood from someplace
deep ....deep within
The enemy overruns us .........a thousand
blades begin

I saw the steeds coming fast as they
knock me to the ground
Giant hooves pummel me until
there's no one else around

Each time when I'm awakened I remember
of pains that weren't so bad
I guess it's just not the worst
of dreams I've ever had

Do you have recurring dreams , nightmares ? It's so strange when you think of the meaning , either all of it's meaning or none, though who know's.........?

Yes, I have had recurring dreams all my life. Yours seem almost as if you 'remember' something from another time (at least that's what the romantic in me thinks).

Hi Silvergenes, Nice to see you , yes from another time ! All of them perhaps. Part of me the romantic and another part the contradictory stone age man. Wait till I tell you about my other dreams ! Be well Silvergenes!

My dreams have changed over the years, strangely enough I could not remember the dreams after my mother died but they were almost if not every night and I knew they were good, I think it was like spending time with her and that stands out strangest of my dreams.

I know I do..sometimes I think prophetic ones at times. I have dreamed recurrently of tsunamis before the news form India and latest in Japan, meteor strikes and of the eastern skies parting to angels. Sometimes I at least like to think God is sending messages, but I hate the fact of feeling left behind as I do in many dreams. Then I have the recurrent home invasion dreams, where I'm usually shot, axed or stabbed to death. More so when I was young falling dreams or flying dreams. I just hate the ones where I'm running from either a kidnapping maniac, murderer or unseen shadow and I run in slow motion and I wake up with my heart pounding and drenched in sweat...I could go on and on, but I do have to say my favorite one time only dream was of grandma! I always prayed for it and funny thing is I can hardly recall it now. Also, the parting of the skies was absolutely breathtaking I have to say the sounds and sight stunning!! I for the most part always recall dreams but have infrequently been able to control the outcome. i could go on and on....sorry to take up so much room, maybe I am hoping for some dream guru to interpret these dreams and night terrors... love and hugs and by the way......sweet dreams dad!)

Not a pleasant dream, but an effective poem! I know longer have recurring dreams and I suppose I should be grateful cause they're often haunting! 5 years ago

I don't think it's a control thing I just think that like some moments of genious we all have.. we can sometimes intermingle subconsious mind during sleep or rem with reality of awakeness and realize " oh it's a dream" and change the outcome! Has happened to me a few times but the more I "control" the outcome the closer to awakeness I become. Sometimes it's a good dream and I don't want to wake up! Anyhow....maybe control although it's a good thing when some wierdo is chasing me with an ax and I remember I have a gun and turn to shoot him!) Nuff said... love and hugs with sweet dreams.
