The Lions Den

Sadness overcomes me as I look on,

watching this beast devour the young and restless.

Baiting the poorest with moon beam dreams,

that scream money is everything.

Helpless, hopeless but focused on

doing anything in an attempt to get it.

Willing to eat dirt to prove their worth,

while wearing the finest clothes or the newest kicks.

This animal is sick, twisted, demented

but brilliant in a sense.

It goes against all common sense,

cold and calculating,

shifting shapes in defense.

It's crunch time in the lions den

and few actually believe they can win,

until the clock stops and they realize the fix was in.

Awesome dude - voted up.

Totally captivating. By the title of this poem I was unsure that I'd like it, but I did, immensely. Nice work bro.
