Rain

I hear you falling

Drops splashing on my

Window pane

You come in a slow melody

I can hear the sound

You make your own music

A lightening storm

The sound of thunder

Born wild drum

A warrior with his sphear

Shaking the ground

Your slow lullaby

Notes on keys

Making my heart sing

Dances like wildfire

Throughout the terrain

When you get angry

Your drum beats harder

Tapping hard on the glass

You come alive and strong

Your drops wash everything away

Feeding the soul of the ground

You are my romantic lover

Coming back to me

Making the nights last longer

I long for you all the time

With an elusive hunger

Very nice ode to the rain. I have experienced the thunder and lightning on many occasions and relished each moment. Thanks.

Your lovely poem came just in time. It's raining outside. Voted up and awesome. Love to hear the patter of rain on a tin roof.

Caroline, what a beautiful poem. I find rain calming, and it gives me more inspiration, mainly for writing. Take care :-)

I love rain, snow, thunder and lighting as it caresses my roof, windows or pouring on myself as I walk amongst it. I feel cleansed when it touches my skin. To listen to the rain pitter patter on my window pane or roof as I rest takes me to other places, it's music to this poet's soul. Well done Caroline I felt your words.

Beautiful, Caroline. You must like the sound of rain. So do I, especially after a really long dry spell. I remember one time when the rain came down sideways: That's how hard the wind was blowing: A bit of a scary place, sometimes, where we humans live.
