The Call (poem)

Just called you up to check how you’re doin’

Yes it is me

I’m doin’ fine

I miss you too

They’re all doin’ fine

Brenda landed a new job

Jimmy has a girlfriend

Michelle discovered makeup

I’m dealing with it

Yes I heard

That’s why I’m callin’

How are you holdin’ up

I’m sorry I just found out

I should have called more often

How are the kids takin’ it

I know I know It must be so confusing

But why didn’t you call me when this happened

I know I know

I’ll catch the next plane there

I should be there by tomorrow

Is anyone there

Does anybody truly know what time it is? Is anyone there?

Very original! I love it! From what seem a simple action we do every day, you turn this into a poem! Have a nice day!

This reminds me of a Pink Floyd song - the same one Bill alludes to in his comment.

This is a different theme and it's great! I love the way you wrote it.

Quite a contrast from your daily work.

Completely believable as a conversation of necessity.

Possibly a lover from the past?
