The Spared Kiss (poem)

How many nights would know the love they shared

Another candle glowed as couple dance

And every star was captured in their trance

For bright tomorrows just one kiss was spared

-

The dreams which stream from moonbeams would enhance

The fragrances from fancy flowers’ flared

The wall which locked out fantasies was bared

So endless skies may tell of a romance

-

They spent their days in lovers’ world so vast

And waves of warm enchantment would they cast

Just holding hands gave meaning to the light

-

The sunset came to see them holding tight

Who knew the darkness spread across the night

Who knew the kiss they shared would be their last

To know of and experience such a love in this lifetime is a rare gift, and one never knows when a kiss will be the last one. Very moving and heartfelt. Dramatic video.

Up and more and sharing

Hugs, Faith Reaper

Hauntingly beautiful, Martin.

Most of us never know when that darkness is at hand.

Here's hoping for a hand to hold and sunshine to brighten your day.

DJ.

A lifetime love is a wonderful thing and a great blessing. After my dear one passed away the hardest thing was to see couples holding hands as we had done so often. Lovely poem.
