Their Days (poem)

She waits for him in places long ago

In silence sits her sweet and faithful heart

She sees in him the one she use to know

Before their days have driven them apart

-

He tries so hard to make the ends all meet

There is no time for pleasures of the past

He sees her cry and senses his defeat

Before were days which were let go too fast

-

It seems that they don’t talk much anymore

The problems which they share they bear alone

They cannot see the key to answer’s door

So much in love they suffer on their own

-

Yet in their darkness they reach out a hand

And pray the other still will understand

Mhatter99,

This is absolutely beautiful and all too familiar.

Communication is often overlooked in painful situations, so many can relate to this Poem.

Heartbreaking, this one. So much in love, but suffering on their own. That should not be the case. There must be communication in order for there to be a relationship.

Voted up +++ and sharing

God bless, Faith Reaper

I sure hope they work it out. It sounds like they want to hang on....

I think too many of us have walked down that dark and

lonely path. It is a slippery slope where most do not recover

their footing.

I cannot call this poem 'beautiful' when it is tumultuous in nature.

I can say that you have done an exceptional job with this piece of work.

As always, you bring your finest to the table.

Thank you, Martin.

DJ.

Martin, so many couples will be able to relate to this beautifully written poem. Very sad but also profoundly true.

Mhatter99... and in todays' world it appears to get worse rather than better...everything has gotten almost unobtainable....that's because we have become a society of instant gratification , wanting what the generation before us has..without regard to how they sacrificed to reach today's best....true loves does suffer sometimes, although there are those special rare relationships that make it through , regardless....beautiful poem with words of truth..enjoyed very much
