Then I Know...A Hublet
A Child Stirs
and softly cries
Gently lifting the warm softness in my arms
I sit to rock her back to sleep
Her cheek rests against my shoulder
Her head nestling in the hollow of my cheek
I can feel her soft hair gently brushing against it
After a time, her breathing slows, a sigh escapes her lip and
she returns to the sleep only the untroubled soul of children can have
It is then
In the dark of night
a warm child sleeping in my arms
That I lean my head back
Hold on tight
Smile and know
There is a God
