Imagine

Today is 9/11. I remind myself that there is terror everywhere in the world and it is being experienced right now without any recognition.

Peace to you and your loved ones today.

Ok, I'm not writing about cooking today. This is a photo of me and my daughter out looking at her street art (the little painting amidst all the graffiti that says 'lou' at the top). I chose this photo because I love her and her art and it speaks a bit about the human act of loving, not hating.

What I really want to discuss is something important. The state of the world. Which doesn't appear to be very good.

How are we going to correct this? And I do mean us. Because we are all in this together, right?

I received a lovely facebook notice from a woman in Italy this morning. Patrizia. We don't even speak the same language. But I use that google tool where you can translate and we talk to each other sometimes. I met her for the first time on a website about losing loved ones to suicide. I look at her across the ocean and we connect.

The point is, if I can get on the internet and create a friendship one little googled word at a time, why can't people who have more time, resources, and assets, do that?

You can do peace one day at a time. You can reach out into the world to almost anyone. Can we do this today? Please? It doesn't cost a dime.

And listen to John Lennon's Imagine.

I guess linking the world through the Internet might work? Interesting concept. You and your daughter are so cute together.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever, as the poet said. Lovely pic and thoughts. One gets so bitter at the state of everything: just hostile and argumentative. Nice to take a break and see the wall art...Bob

Hard to argue with that:) Have you ever looked at the comments on political articles? Wow. Talk about hate mongering.
