This Venture Into Solitude

I wandered lonely by the sea

Where grief did come and follow me

And like a wave caught in a tide

It tossed me high and stripped my hide.

Yet when I crash upon the shore

I know sorrow will abate once more

Time will carry me out again

Where I will find myself as friend.

Hi Beth!

Thanks for the comment! It's always fun to meet someone else who knows what it's like to live in another world. Makes life much more interesting! I hope you enjoy the books. I found them all quite good. :)

It seems to work just like that too. Scriptures state that we never get more than we can handle.

I know I've sure made the best of my friends in my darkest hours!

aHA!...Yes, elefanza, this was it!!! This is how I stumbled upon your site! I should have known, my boy-toy WTS had a hand in it. I saw that he shared this hub of yours and I went off to investigate.

I have to remember to thank him!!

Touching poem, btw.....very deep.

WESMAN!!!

Yeah for having friends in dark places! Appreciate that! They make such a difference! I need to reread Lord of the Rings. Ooo, so excited for you reading The Hobbit. Did you get the annotated version? I still need to read that! I really want to get the illustrated The Silmarillion some day. Have you seen the artwork? AHHH So amazing!

fpherj48, glad you enjoyed the poem! You must be pretty cool to be a friend of Wesman. He's awesome!

OH I WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea there was an annotated version!!!!!!!

I just got hardbacks....about $25 each for an average, but you know what? It's now been so long since I read Tolkien that I hardly even recognize the style, it's fresh and new all over again !!!

YEAH!!!!

I can't wait to reread the books. I might start with Two Towers though as I've reread Fellowship so many times.

I personally don't like hardbacks. I like books that bend. But I understand the need to feel like the book will be permanently in that form. Oh man, am I stoked for the movie!
